Kelsey's Cake

Kelsey graduated from High School on Wednesday, so today we threw her a graduation party. For her party I was in charge of making the cake. I thought it turned out pretty cute, so I thought I would share. I made a three tier red velvet and vanilla cake with butter cream frosting covered in fondant. The part that I found the most fun with the cake was making the Hillcrest Knight.

This is where the fun began with my rolled out fondant and my exact-o-knife (sp?).

After I rolled out the fondant, I would lay my tracing paper over and cut out the shapes. ( I guess it's pretty self explanatory)

Some of my cut out shapes.

The finished Hillcrest Knight! The one on the left is my fondant Knight and the Knight on the right is the image I copied. I stole it from her graduation program.

The top view of the finished cake!

and a side view :) I am so glad it's done. I was a bad kid and procrastinated making the cake... I was up till 5:30 this morning finishing it. So I could really use a nap but Kelsey is happy so I am happy. Congratulations Kelsey Michelle!!!
