Updates

So this past Saturday, Wade and his roommates put together a BBQ at their house. All who came were to bring their own meat and something to share. Well I will confess, when it comes to bringing "something to share" I think of two things (okay maybe three): 1. is it fun to make? 2. is it cute?/gives me something to talk about? (cause let's face it, I get pretty shy in large social gatherings) and 3. (everyone thinks of this- its a given) does it taste good?
For the "something to share" I decided to make pig cookies because I had been wanting to make them forever. And the best part was that they were so much fun to make. The cookie itself is a sugar cookie but made with sour cream causing the batter to be just a little thicker than a cake batter rather than a traditional cookie batter. (I forgot the name of the sugar cookie brand, but they are really popular and you can get them at the grocery store- they are really puffy.... anyways they taste just like them) But after they bake its just pink royal icing ,chocolate chips, peanut butter or butterscotch chips, marshmallows and sugar cookies.

I was way to embarrassed to take pictures of the cookies at the BBQ so here are a couple pictures of the cookies inside my trunk before I took them in. They actually turned out pretty good and people seemed to like them. So mission accomplished.

I do love how each one seems to have taken on it's own personality.

I didn't take any pictures at the BBQ. But there was a big turn out and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. So it was a good day.

The day before, which was Friday if you didn't catch on, was quite fun. Wade and I took a drive up to Newdale, Idaho (I would say just under an hour drive from Idaho Falls) to go to Green Canyon Hot Springs. It was so nice to sit and soak. Green Canyon in indoors so we didn't have to worry about the Idaho wind and it didn't smell (we were going to go Heise Hot Springs, which I guess smells like rotten eggs). It was pretty full but we had a great time. The picture above was stolen from the Green Canyon's website, but this is their main pool and then they also had their hot hot hot pool in the other room.

The last bit to share is that the studio I work for, Idaho Falls School of Ballet (which Kelsey and Sierra also attend), is having their recital this weekend on May 2nd at the Civic Auditorium. I am super excited for my students and the studio. They are putting on The Ugly Duckling. It will be super cute, I will try to get some pictures up from dress rehearsal so you can see my students.

My Diamond Lunch-in!

Here are some pictures from my super cute lunch-in I had on Saturday! It was more so an excuse to get some old roommates together from my Freshman year. I themed the lunch-in around diamonds and hot pink so here is how it turned out. For food we had Japanese Chicken Salad, Great Harvest Honey Wheat Bread, and Abbi brought cake for dessert!

Here is a quick picture of the table before everyone came. As the "table runner" I had tea lights and large rhinestones.

At each plate there was a gift wrapped in a pink bow and inside was a diamond paper weight.

Each place also had a glass full of strawberry Fun-Dip (on the left) and then a glass rimmed with pink sugar (right). To top it all off there was a pink "diamond" Ring-Pop at the base of the glass, which we all put on for the party.

The centerpiece was so cute! I put together a combination of white Daisies and pink Carnations. Then for some fun, I stuck in hot pink feathers!

In this picture you can see the drinks. The glasses were rimmed with pink sugar and filled with Sprite. Then to turn the beverage pink I put in pink ice cubes!! So fun!

And our newest addition to the group, the adorable, Madison Stucki!
What a great party!

Preston, Idaho

Here are the pictures I promised from my visit to Preston, Idaho to see the Snapps. It was so great to see them all. The Snapps are the most amazing family. I am so grateful to have them in my life.

Song of the Night

I am currently up working on my English research paper that is due tomorrow morning... yeah finals! But any ways, I currently have Pandora (a college students best friend) playing while I type away. This song came on tonight and I fell in love with it. I really like it for some reason.

My favorite part is when he says:

Cause I'd die if I saw you
I'd die if I didn't see you there

so true. enjoy-
and maybe I'll get to go bed soon....

My trip to Logan part I

So like I had mentioned in a previous entry, that I am in the middle of school shopping. I was planning on heading up to Moscow, Idaho this weekend to check out University of Idaho, but finals are kicking my trash so I decided to stay home and study instead. But here are some pictures from when Meri and I went to Logan, Utah and checked out Utah State University. I have to confess, we really only took pictures on the way down in the car and when we stopped at the Snapps. So the following pictures are spiced up with some captions of our trip down to Logan. Pictures from our time at the Snapps will be up next. Enjoy!

Preston pictures coming soon...

Song of the day

My mom and Kelsey have fallen in love with this song, and I have now too. I find it a bit applicable to my life at the moment. So please enjoy Sara Bareilles' "Gravity".
