Updates

So this past Saturday, Wade and his roommates put together a BBQ at their house. All who came were to bring their own meat and something to share. Well I will confess, when it comes to bringing "something to share" I think of two things (okay maybe three): 1. is it fun to make? 2. is it cute?/gives me something to talk about? (cause let's face it, I get pretty shy in large social gatherings) and 3. (everyone thinks of this- its a given) does it taste good?
For the "something to share" I decided to make pig cookies because I had been wanting to make them forever. And the best part was that they were so much fun to make. The cookie itself is a sugar cookie but made with sour cream causing the batter to be just a little thicker than a cake batter rather than a traditional cookie batter. (I forgot the name of the sugar cookie brand, but they are really popular and you can get them at the grocery store- they are really puffy.... anyways they taste just like them) But after they bake its just pink royal icing ,chocolate chips, peanut butter or butterscotch chips, marshmallows and sugar cookies.

I was way to embarrassed to take pictures of the cookies at the BBQ so here are a couple pictures of the cookies inside my trunk before I took them in. They actually turned out pretty good and people seemed to like them. So mission accomplished.

I do love how each one seems to have taken on it's own personality.

I didn't take any pictures at the BBQ. But there was a big turn out and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. So it was a good day.

The day before, which was Friday if you didn't catch on, was quite fun. Wade and I took a drive up to Newdale, Idaho (I would say just under an hour drive from Idaho Falls) to go to Green Canyon Hot Springs. It was so nice to sit and soak. Green Canyon in indoors so we didn't have to worry about the Idaho wind and it didn't smell (we were going to go Heise Hot Springs, which I guess smells like rotten eggs). It was pretty full but we had a great time. The picture above was stolen from the Green Canyon's website, but this is their main pool and then they also had their hot hot hot pool in the other room.

The last bit to share is that the studio I work for, Idaho Falls School of Ballet (which Kelsey and Sierra also attend), is having their recital this weekend on May 2nd at the Civic Auditorium. I am super excited for my students and the studio. They are putting on The Ugly Duckling. It will be super cute, I will try to get some pictures up from dress rehearsal so you can see my students.
