Our Apartment

We are still decorating and settling in to our apartment. But I wanted to share our living room so far. My main excitement of our living room is our new super awesome sectional! Any who, I'll post some more pictures of our apartment as we finish putting it together!

I'm a little behind on my blog...

Incase you missed the memo... we got married!!! I can't wait till I get my professional photos! But in the mean time please enjoy this cute photo courtesy of my best friend Colleen Mero!

Halloween Eve & Day

Getting Cesar to agree to wear a costume wasn't to hard. But finding something that He was willing to wear was another story. So to make both parties happy (me wanting to dress up and him wanting to be comfortable) we went as doctors. Cesar was so excited to buy scrubs. Not only would he be super comfortable the whole time and he has an extra pair of pj's.

Being a good doctor I had to check his heart.... He passed. He has a loving heart.

and give him a band-aid for being good....

But Cesar was the bad doctor and gave me a shot. Although he tried to make himself look good saying it was to protect me from the piggy flu... ha ha
So on Halloween night Cesar and I didn't get any trick-or-treaters and we didn't dress up... but we did pick up our new table and started to put it together.
Cesar in the sea of table mess... what a good sport

Ta-dah!! Our beautiful table! Please don't mind the lack of chair bottoms... we wanted to go to a movie so we've left them for another day.... ha ha

A closer view of the table. I was super excited to set up the table.... just because I wanted to put my center piece on it. Its a lime green place mat with three hurricane vases. I now just need to fill them! Oh I can't wait to decorate!!!

Our First Place... well the bare bones of it

On October 21st Cesar and I received keys to our first place! We are now (well technically neither of us our living there yet but will be) residents of The Village apartment complex in Rexburg. I was so excited to have a place of our own, I kind of went picture crazy.

Now for those who are scratching your heads to as why Cesar and I got an apartment a month before we are getting married and we wouldn't even start to live in it till December, rest assured, we got a great deal. We bought the previous owners contract and the deal made was that they would pay our first months rent. They moved out the 2nd week in October so they had already paid their rent for that month and now they are paying our rent for November. So we won't pay rent until December. Talk about nice. We wont pay until we actually start living there.

Any ways check out our apartment. Excuse the mess. I was so excited to put my bridal shower gifts in the apartment so you will see bags everywhere.

Me at our front door!

Once you walk in our front door you have to choose left or right. This view above is the right side of the hall. The door on the left is our bathroom and the door straight ahead is our bedroom.

Our bedroom door/entry way

Our little room :) view from the door
Our closet is a decent size but Cesar and I love to hang all of our clothes on hangers but our closet can't hold all of our clothes to keep that habit. So we will be investing in a dresser.... we just need to figure out how to put it in our room.
This is the view of our bathroom from the door.
Starting at the left behind the double doors are our washer and dryer. This was the big selling point on this apartment for me. I didn't want to walk in the cold to the apartment laundry room and risk having my clothes thrown on the dirty floor....

To the right of the washer and dryer is our shower. I really love the stone tile in the shower... but what I don't love is the lack of shelving- but that I mean there is none. Not even a place for the soap! So I need to find something to organize it.
To the right of our shower is our strange space. I like the deep drawers and the counter top but there is nothing else in the rest of the space. The counter is as deep as our shower and it is open all the way to the top of the ceiling. So the next thing on my to do list is to find a rack of some sort to put in there and have it act like a linen tower.

This picture isn't necessary but here is our toilet. If you notice my bathroom is a little long and wide, that is because it is a wheelchair accessible apartment. So there is a lot of open space but that means a lack in storage and everything is low... but I love everything else.

Our wheelchair accessible vanity. I was kind of sad of the lack of counter space... cause I use quite a bit when I get ready in the morning but on the bright side it may be easier to keep clean cause we can't keep anything on it... ha ha we'll see

Alright so back at the front door you can see the coat closet left of the front door. Then at the end of the left hall our living room.

In the living room looking down our front hall and you can see our kitchen to the left.

Another view of our living room. This wall is our only shared wall with our next door neighbors.
Looking out from our kitchen to our living room and dining area. You can see our sliding glass door. We live on the first floor and we have a porch and a storage closet out there. It is super nice!

Another view of our dining area and porch

Our kitchen! I am going to go with a black, green and white motif. I hope it turns out as cute as I plan!

Our fridge is already decorated with our announcements ha ha

Another view

We have a pantry!

Cesar in the den

Our den is 10x10 just a nice size to put a desk and some storage

The other side of the den

The End! That is our apartment! We can't wait to move in completely and I can't wait to decorate :)

I can't wait till Saturday!!!!

I am SUPER excited!!! My dress arrived at Alta Moda today!!! This means that this Saturday I get to venture down to Salt Lake, try it on and bring it home for any alterations.

In case you were curious and wanted a sneak peek into the bridal shop I posted the picture above. It is so pretty how they have the sample dresses lined against the walls. And my favorite... each dress is organized by style, and out in the open, not covered in a plastic bag.

Okay so this is exactly what I did with my dress. I found my favorite strapless sample gown and built the top I wanted. Just like the dress above. My dress will be unique and one of a kind! I can't wait to see it!!!

Some times some of their sample gowns do have sleeves on them, like this one. I tried this dress on while I was there. So pretty! Like I said, if you are in the market or will be some day definitely check out Alta Moda for a one of a kind dress!!!

It's Friday!!!

I feel like I am finally making some progress! It took four hours, but last night we designed and finalized our wedding announcements. I also received copyrights to 20 of my engagement photos, so I thought I would share a cute kissing one! Can't wait to see my announcements printed!
And because I think it is funny I want to share what Cesar and I are doing for our date night this week. First off we are making it simple on ourselves and we have a Papa Murphy's pizza in the oven. But the best part is that we are watching Titanic tonight. A) because I have never seen it and B) we are watching it in honor of our upcoming cruise we are taking for our Honeymoon (thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Bullock- THANK YOU!). I know, I know, it's a bit crazy and strange, but we think it's kind of funny plus we (or maybe just me ) love themed nights. So it all works out great! Have a happy weekend!
And enjoy General Confrence!!! Watch for Cesar at the Priesthood session and the two of us at the Sunday morning session because we will be their LIVE! I am so excited, this will the my first time seeing Conference in the conference center :)

Cesar and I went on a Photo Scavenger Hunt last week for our date night and had a blast! So I thought I would share our list with you. The rules I gave him were that he had an hour to find and photograph as many things on the list that he could. At the end of the hour we would tally up all that he found. Planning My Wedding

So planning a wedding is a little harder than I thought (go figure)! But I have managed to accomplish some things here in the first month. So I thought I would share some of my vendors and/or things I love, in case you were curious or you're planning a wedding of your own. Enjoy!
  1. First things first, I bought my beautiful dress from Alta Moda Bridal Boutique. They are located in Salt Lake City and I absolutely love them. I set up an appointment the day before (Monday) and when I arrived the following day (Tuesday) for my appointment I was so impressed. When I arrived I received a full consultation, where they really tried to get to know me and my future husband to be. They also talked me through their dress making process. At this boutique you try on designer sample gowns and once you find the one for you (most are immodest strapless gowns; mine was), you design your modest top to make your gown temple ready. It is so fun, you get to pick your neckline, your sleeve, the length of the gown, etc. - basically you get to design your wedding gown based on the sample you fell in love with. I am so excited to see my dress, it will be done on October 10th!
  2. Finding a photographer that could fit my budget was a huge challenge for me. I fell in love with the style of three photographers but each one's basic package (and I mean BASIC!) was at the top or exceeded the amount I was willing to spend. I was super bummed. Until Cesar suggested checking into a local photographer he used to work with a long time ago. So that's what we did. We set up an appointment with Hattie Bates Photography. I was so happy that Cesar suggested her. We are getting everything we want within our budget! Not only are we able to get our engagements, bridals, wedding and reception all photographed, we are getting the rights to our photos, we are getting a free photo book, all of our pictures both in color and in black and white, she is designing our announcements and thank you cards, and my favorite thing is that we don't pay by the hour. Yet instead we have her for the whole event and she'll continually take pictures through out. So many photographers we met with were charging by the hour, regardless of the event time or location- very expensive and no fun. So check her out, I am happy with her so far!
  3. For my bridesmaids dresses I found exactly what I was looking for at Jcrew! I wanted a dress that worked for my wedding but would fit into my bridesmaids everyday wear. The last thing I wanted was to make them buy a dress they would never consider wearing ever again or couldn't wear again. So I found a super cute dress on sale at Jcrew, it's a dark brown strapless sun dress made of an embossed cotton. I absolutely love it! Now because it is strapless it did create some problems 1. it's immodest and 2. it's November, so it's going to be freezing. So to solve both issues, I found a super cute cardigan sweater at Target. I am super excited to see it all come together :)
  4. For ideas I love reading Snippet & Ink. By far it is my favorite wedding blog. You have to check it out whether you are planning a wedding or not- it's so cute!
  5. The last thing I'll share today is our jeweler. Cesar and I found our rings at Ingram's Fine Jewelers. We not only loved their selection of rings but their customer service as well. By far out of all the jewelery stores we went to in Idaho Falls, Ingram's treated us the best. So if you're in the market for any kind of jewelery go talk to Stan at Ingram's, he'll take great care of you!

Updates: 12 down 11 to go

Alright, so we have made it half way! It's all down hill from here. Cesar will be up at Priest Lake on the 9th of August! I can hardly wait. Luckily I will be going on up to the lake this Thursday(aka tomorrow!!!) with my Mom and Sierra so hopefully that will help time fly by. In honor of going to the lake Kelsey(who sadly isn't coming), my Mom and I went and got Deluxe Pedicures. It was heaven! Dang expensive but so nice! So here are some pictures of our cute toes!

Top left: Kelsey, Top right: Mom, Bottom: Me!
Okay its kind of a gross picture but here is a close up on my cute toes!
Here are some fun pictures Cesar has sent me while he has been out in the desert for Army Training. Poor guy, he has been hot, dusty, sweaty and gross for so long. He loves to shower so since he can't, he has been going through baby wipes like none other to try to keep clean.
Hmmmm I love this face even though he has decided to grow a mustache... men!

Okay this is so sad!!! Cesar accidentally cut open his hand and had to get three stitches. I guess it was pretty deep and he could see pretty far into his hand. Nasty. From what I understand, he was loading the explosives into the gun of their tank and he picked the casing up wrong and cut his hand open. Poor guy.

And this is where we sleeps at night, on a small cot in the desert. Talk about no fun. ha ha at least in my opinion.

Alright, so if Cesar wasn't perfect enough already, he totally just kicked it up a notch. He had a bouquet of flowers delivered to my house this morning! They are beautiful! The card attach says: "I miss you! Thinking of you! I love you!-Cesar"!!!!

A-MAZ-ING!

Thank you Cesar! I love you and miss you too! I can't wait for you to come home :)
